News from the Brownsville Bailiwick & Beyond

Yuba Feather Historical Assn. will hold their quarterly potluck at Ponderosa Community Center on April 25. Bring a dish about 6:00 and enjoy the company of neighbors and friends. It will be time to start thinking about the summer program at the YHFA Museum, looking for people to help show off our great museum and village to our visitors.

The Yuba Feather Community Services board plans to host a dinner at the community center on Saturday, May 5. Cinco de Mayo will be the theme. Watch for more details.

Saturday, May 5th will be the next Foothill Communities Flea Market in the parking lots of the Brownsville Mercantile and Books & More in Brownsville. Space is free and first come first serve. We are looking for someone who would be interested in setting up a food booth for not only the May event but also the remaining events each month. Call 675-3275 for more information.

Look Back in Time – In 1901 there was a baseball game at Bangor against a team from Oroville. It was a walkover for Bangor, 36 to 11. The game was not even interesting (we wish there was local baseball here like it was in the '70s, getting teams together).

Hope to see you in Brownsville soon. Christine and Yvonne
